At long last Lebron James’ elbow got a Twitter account and it is FANTASTIC. Sure, it was only a matter of time, but we have to say we are loving it so far. Think @#$%MyDadSays, except in this case, the dad is LeBron James — the King himself

I love this – Howie Kendrick won the game for the Angels on Wednesday night with a 2-out bunt single that enabled the winning run to score from 3rd base in the bottom of the 9th inning to break a 3-3 tie. Kendrick expertly pushed the bunt past Indians’ pitcher Chris Perez and neither 1st

Sing Loud, Sing Together. As I was walking a ribbon of highway I saw above me an endless skyway I saw below me a golden valley This land was made for you and me Chorus I’ve roamed and rambled and I’ve followed my footsteps To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts And all around me a voice was sounding This land was made for you and me Chorus The sun comes shining as I was strolling The wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling The fog was lifting a voice come chanting This land was made for you and me Chorus As I was walkin’ – I saw a sign there And that sign said – no tress passin’ But on the other side …. it didn’t say nothin! Now that side was made for you and me! Chorus In the squares of the city – In the shadow of the steeple Near the relief office – I see my people And some are grumblin’ and some are wonderin’ If this land’s still made for you and me.

Unbelievable! Patrick Kane’s rebound of a Jonathan Toews shot on goal tied the contest at 4-4 with just 14 seconds remaining on the clock in regulation. Marian Hossa atoned for his costly 5-minute major penalty with just over a minute left to play by scoring the game-winning goal in overtime. It was his 1st playoff

Desperate times, to paraphrase, call for… Ike Davis . Perhaps the most hopeful sign to come out of an otherwise desultory Spring Training for the Mets was the surprising success of young Ike Davis, son of former major leaguer Ron Davis . The plan was not to rush him, even if it meant going with the uninspiring platoon of Mike Jacobs and Fernando Tatis at first base. But then even the plans for Ike, like the rest of the runaway train that has been the Mets season to date, have already changed, just two weeks in to the season. Out goes Jacobs, in comes Davis for his Major League debut tonight, and with him something for fans to get excited about.

One of my favorite things about Sirius XM Radio — and probably the reason I got it in the first place — is the MLB package. As most baseball fans know, it has live play-by-play of every game and the newly-rebranded MLB Network Radio (formerly XM Home Plate) on XM Ch. 175 / Sirius 210

The more I watch and listen to broadcasts of other major league teams, the more I appreciate — get this — Michael Kay and John Sterling . In the last few days, as I’ve sampled quite a few games, it’s become even more noticeable how unabashed rooting is the norm for many team’s broadcasts. I heard supposedly professional play by play men yelling, “Stay Fair!” and “Get Down!” and Safe, YES!” more than a few times. MLB Network’s highlights, switching between two teams’ broadcasts, had announcers saying “Stay Fair!” for balls hit by each of their teams. It’s time for that nonsense to stop.
