I have to tell you I frequently find myself singing or humming the music from Mamma Mia. I have seen the show a few time and loved it each time! Mamma Mia takes the hit songs by the Swedish supergroup ABBA and shapes them around the story of a single mother dealing with her young daughter’s upcoming marriage on a picturesque Greek isle. While the daughter plans her future with the love of her life, her mother is haunted by three different men who may or may not be her daughter’s father

PRINT ARTICLE NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has conditionally reinstated Michael Vick, though he will not be able to play in a regular season game until week six. Though twelve teams have publicly voiced that they are not interested in signing the QB, the Patriots seem to be kicking the tires. USA Today , Sports Illustrated’s Peter King , and many other sources are all reporting that Bill Belichick would like to use Vick in a single-wing formation; a wildcat offense that would benefit more from agility than from throwing ability

After the cast signing, Zachary Levi (Chuck), Joshua Gomez (Morgan), and Adam Baldwin (Casey) play Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name” on the XBOX 360 Lego Rock Band game in front of the WB’s 2009 Comic-Con booth. I was literally right in front of the XBOX 360 set-up where I had been standing for over two hours trying to get the Chuck cast to sign my 2008 Comic-Con Chuck WB bag. I settled for pictures of the cast as they signed the awesome looking season 3 Chuck posters instead since the …

When they first announced two years ago that South Pacific was coming back to Broadway I was so excited. It is one of my favorite Rodger and Hammerstein shows and I will always have fond memories of doing the show in high school and Community Theatre(I played Stewpot and understudied Emile De Becque in case you care.)Anyway back to the Broadway production of South Pacific. The new revival marks the first time it is back on Broadway since the original 1949 production

What could be a more primitive feeling than riding or mushing a dog sled over the frozen tundra? There isn’t much ice and snow left as global warming speeds up the heating process so if you are going to experience something as primordial as traveling across a vast whiteness with no color in sight except the blur of your faithful dog pack leading you through the frozen wilderness you better do it now. These days you can go sledding whether it is the winter season or if you are traveling in the summer on vacation .

When I was growing up in late 1970s, if you were not a Reggie fan, you certainly were a Jim Rice fan. Rice went on to play his entire career with the Boston Red Sox. In little league, we would imagine we were Jim Rice and try to emulate those home run blasts. I am not sure why it took Jim Rice this long to enter Cooperstown, but I guess his relationship with the writers played a big factor in all of this.

Applause has learned that the script and storyline for David Mamet’s new Broadway play “Race” , which is shrouded in as much secrecy as the Vatican is when the cardinals gather to choose a new Pope has been leaked to the press! Potential backers aren’t permitted to read the script — they’re simply expected to throw their money at “the new Mamet” because it is, well, “the new Mamet.” Designers working on “Race” have been told not to let the script out of their sight. And the cast members — Richard Thomas, James Spader , Kerry Washington — have been instructed not to disclose any plot details in interviews. “I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say outside of it being a brand-new play from David Mamet,” Washington said recently

With a round of praise from the toughest of Broadway critics and a show that I knew would become a mega hit is easily one of my all time favorite musicals! The new revival of South Pacific is so enchanted and beautifully staged by director Bartlett Sher and the full-scale production at Lincoln Center Theatre has earned every accolade they were given, winner of seven 2008 Tony Awards . While in retrospect, given the considerable praise and excitement about this revival of Pacific, it seems like this revival was a sure thing, or not. Of course, nothing could be further than the truth, and the fact that Lincoln Center was ready to again roll the dice in a large way, speaks to its ability to accomplish and risk things that commercial producers avoid

I just read an article recently which interviewed Stephanie D’Abruzzo , the singing actress who was Tony-nominated for creating the roles of Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut in Avenue Q about the possibility of returning to close the show with the original cast which would have been wonderful. I mean lets face it, the originals with the exception of John Tartaglia ( Shrek ) aren’t working steady at the moment. At least not with anything meaningful
