PRINT ARTICLE Despite immense amounts of media hype, video game simulations, and commercials featuring everything from sports drinks to muppets; the NBA is not getting a Kobe/Lebron finals match-up. The Lakers/Magic finals series could be far more entertaining, as Orlando is a more well-rounded squad than the Lebron-centric Cavs. On the way to the championship series, the Magic eliminated the last two Eastern Conference Champions (including the defending NBA Champion Celtics), and beat a very capable 76ers team.

From the new stadium to the over-abundance of money spent on prospects this past off-season, this ballclub really had all eyes on them. It was a rough start for the Yanks; New York City critics were all over them and especially the newly acquired ace, CC Sabathia. However, like Sabathia, the Yanks couldn’t be contained as they have won 14 or their last 18 games and set a major league record last night by going 18 consecutive games without an error. Feldman gave up six hits in six innings to the Yankees (mostly in his final inning) as the Yankees baserunners were just too spread out to cause any real damage.

• Eric Mangini’s created a bit of a stir by "asking" rookies to "voluntarily" take a 10-hour bus ride to Hartford to participate in a football camp for underprivileged kids. Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports that the players and their agents were upset about it, feeling like Mangini made the 20-hour round trip "voluntary," but not really voluntary if you wanted to play for the Browns. • Some people in Chicago are getting mad at Jay Cutler because he goes to Cubs games and doesn’t sign autographs
