We already considered Joe Maddon as a new age, forward thinking, manager based on embracing of the sabertmetrics. Of course, there is also the infatuation with Malcom Gladwell’s Blink as suggested reading for all his players. It was last season Maddon stunned the baseball community in 2008 with his 9=8 math . The Tampa Rays and Joe Maddon came to an agreement for a new contract that keeps him as manager until 2012.

No matter where you turn, talk about the NBA finals is everywhere. “Who’s it going to be?” you may hear with four of the biggest names in basketball all in the semi-finals: Kobe and the Lakers , Carmelo and the Nuggets , LeBron and the Caves and Dwight “Superman” Howard and the Magic . I don’t care who you are, but seeing any of these two stars going up against each other when it matters the most will surely be a site to see. Currently, the Lakers have 2 -1 lead in the semi’s over the Denver Nuggets and Kobe is averaging an astonishing 37.7 points per game, not to bash Melo’s average of 31 points per game including his 21 point game three that was limited due to foul trouble. On the Eastern front, the Magic are leading LeBron’s Cave’s 2 – 1 despite LeBron’s 49 point per game average in this series. Are we going to see the stars continue this dominance in the finals? Some critics believe that semi’s are actually going to be the more star-studded games and the finals will determine the better team. According to the Sports Assassin when talking about a possible Kobe – LeBron final, “ In two games against the Lakers this year, LeBron has averaged 19.5 points, missed 31 of his 45 shots, missed 10 of his 13 three-pointers and missed half of his free throws. Against Cleveland, Kobe averaged just 19.5 points, missed 22 of his 39 shots, missed 6 of his 7 three-pointers and only shot six free throws combined in the two games.

It was a war of ideas, or perhaps a war between fundamental principles. The principles of Quantum Mechanics ad those of General Relativity always seemed to be fighting each other, and it was not sure that the two could coexist”, writes Felix Bloch Professor of Physics at Standford University Leonard Susskind in his brilliant and seminal book The Black Hole War: My Battle with Stephen Hawking to Make the World Safe for Quantum Mechanics

Fatties, according to Ricky Gervais, it’s all your own fault! He called people who get liposuction and gastric band operations: “lazy fucking fat pigs.” In the meantime, Ricky is perfectly aware of the fact he is not that slim himself; he therefore refers to himself as a “fucking fat bastard”. He really speaks out in his audiobook ‘The Ricky Gervais Guide to Medicine’ on the subject. Since he is not in favour of gastric band operations, and does not understand doctors performing them, he calls on everyone who sees him on the street to call him “Fatty”, so that he’ll be so ashamed it will motivate him to lose weight.

As a bonafide Atlanta Braves fan, let me just say that I don’t easily excite over specific players. The whole game is so diluted with the comings and goings of various players, it’s hard sometimes to keep up with who is on what team this season. I mean, you know the drill, you get Chicago Cubs tickets in hopes of seeing your favorite players in action and poof, you didn’t notice in the off-season half the team was traded to the St.
